With the approval of the ministry, Lausanne hopes to start the controlled cannabis experiment this summer.

The Swiss city of Lausanne has received the green light from the Federal Office of Public Health to start the 'Cann-L' project. It is the third experiment approved in Switzerland in a short period of time to test the controlled cultivation and sale of cannabis experimentally. Sales have already started in Basel, while approval has only recently been received in Zurich. The Cann-L project, led by Lausanne and Addiction Suisse for scientific purposes, will involve approximately 1,200 participants in Lausanne who are over the age of 18 and live there.

Lausanne can therefore now start with the plan to legalize the sale of cannabis. It's now up to the city to find a single sales location, train vendors, and recruit participants. However, alderman Emilie Moeschler does not expect any problems in finding participants. With the approval of the ministry, Lausanne hopes to start the experiment this summer. Local and organically grown cannabis will be produced for the project.
